Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White’s first restaurant in Asia | Exclusive first look | CNA Lifestyle

Celebrity chef Marco Pierre White tells CNA Lifestyle how he turned down Michelin’s invitation for his new restaurant, The English House, to be included in the Michelin Guide.
White’s first establishment in Asia is housed in adjoining 19th century shophouses along Singapore’s Mohamed Sultan Road, which were painstakingly restored over three years. The property is inspired by colonial Singapore and houses stately dining rooms.
The English House will offer modern British cuisine and diners can tuck into dishes such as stuffed cabbage in a fresh tomato sauce, and platters of Black Angus beef ribs with braised spiced tendons and jus viande. Read more here: https://cna.asia/2x5JhCL

You can have anything in this world but not everything, if you try to have everything you will end up with nothing. Focus on happiness !

Wow, he opened a fine dining in Singapore. Such a humble man. He knows his strength and it's true that Michelin sells tyres. Lol.. Just because they can give stars doesn't mean the restaurant is good.

“Not one Michelin inspector in the world knows more about food than me” 00f shots fired. Looks like the truth hurts. On the other hand, great respect to this man.

Nice decoration, tasteful and a wonderful combination of Eastern and Western styles. It is a slight shame that the host talked in a sterotypical and silly manner when she asked Marco "how did you acquire this?" and he replied "…I buy them". I love his honesty and courage when he explained that he did not give a damn about the opinions of Michelin Guide food inspectors who think that they have the last word to how good food should taste everywhere in the world.

Spend so much on the renovation.

Take how many much to break even?

Waiting for another restaurant to close soon.
