Comic book legend, Stan Lee passed away on November 12 aged 95.
He was the mastermind behind Marvel comics, creating iconic characters as Spider-man, Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk.
During Hollywood’s revived love affair with superhero movies, Stan Lee not only served as an executive producer for Marvel Studio’s hits – but he managed cheeky cameos in every one of the Marvel films released so far.
Mac Miller died aged 26 on September 7.
According to TMZ he died of an apparent accidental overdose after a mixture of different substances and alcohol. Ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande has paid several tributes to Miller since his passing, with an emotional Instagram post and a mention on her latest single ‘Thank U, Next’, calling him an “angel”.
Hollywood legend Burt Reynolds died on September 6 aged 82.
The wisecracking 1970s movie heartthrob, who shot to fame in 1972’s ‘Deliverance’, and went onto star in legendary roles in Smokey and the Bandit, The Cannonball Run and Boogie Nights reportedly died from a heart attack with his family by his side.
The Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin passed away on August 16 aged 76 following a brave and heart-breaking battle with pancreatic cancer.
The legendary singer was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and announced in 2017 that she would be retiring from music. The star won 18 Grammys, and had 17 Top Ten US chart hits over a music career spanning seven decades.
Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain died on June 8, aged 61.
Bourdain first shot to fame with the release of his book Kitchen Confidential: Adventures In The Culinary Underbelly, which became a New York Times bestseller. In the book he wrote openly about his abuse of drugs, including cocaine, heroin and LSD.
