The cross is a vicious blood sacrifice cult.

First, there is something of an irony here. It seems that no one quite grasps what the motivation was for the terror attacks. Anyway, generally I understand the problem with religious stuff in the public square. There is a point however where my knowledge on what is unacceptable clashes with my view on what I like and appreciate. For example, I like a manger scene in the public square around Christmas time. For me it is nostalgic and actually uplifting. But I know it violates the spirit of the government in regards to religion. If the manger scene were to be declared in violation and is directed to be removed, I sigh and nod with acceptance.

The satan worshippers should know that a church was destroyed in the attack.

Apparently you can’t have historical monuments or memorials to people of faith.

    They’re like Isis

The only possible problem I’d see with this is if it were SPECIFICALLY for an individual NOT from the Christian faith.

if god existed, 9/11 would've never happened in the first place.

  7. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

This country was built with God in mind. God is on our money, our pledge, etc. Everywhere. Atheists know God exists, they just like to argue about it.

I swear atheists and liberals ruin everything

  9. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

People put us down because we believe in god and have faith. Let us believe in god. If even one day if we’re wrong what do we have to lose?

  10. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

    Radical atheists are gonna learn.

  11. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

They don't give there religion. They need to tell then to take a hike. Quit giving in to them. Satan is there god no matter how they want to put it.

It's un constitutional like the ending of the second amendment.
    It's un American.
You people are as tricky as your devil.
What's crazier than having an imaginary friend?
    Having an imaginary enemy.
Don't be born again, just grow up.
You pick and choose from the Constitution like the bible.

America wants our evil president behind bars

  14. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

What the heck? Why is it okay to put a statue of satan in a courthouse but not a cross? what's wrong with this picture!?

  15. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

Stop trying to pretend that a cross could represent any other religion besides Christianity. If these commentators were honest and not so biased they'd admit that this is simply a matter of separation of church and state, and is a perfectly reasonable argument to get rid of it. Religion is a crutch and a fairy tale, Wake up people!

  18. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

Yea guess we have no freedom of speech or freedom of religion…..

  19. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

Keep church and state separate. Iran is the result if you don't.

  20. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

There comes a point when removing all religious symbols becomes an endorsement of atheism. Especially, if you remove the generic word God. If you knew God existed you would not remove the word God from public view, so it implies atheism. About 3/4th of the country are Christians, so you should not be surprised if some express their religious views. When the government directly orders the citizen not to express their religion, it is a direct violation of the 1st amendment.

God will punish these people at the end

  22. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

The hell with them people keep the painting

  23. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

God is real, this world with all its amazing animals, ecosystem, humans with advanced systems such as the heart, mind, emotions didn’t evolve. Give it as many billions of years as you want. The world you see around you did not come about because of a random explosion 4.5 billion years ago. Neither was it aliens. If it was a particle that exploded or alien life then the obvious question is where did they come from? And you will eventually keep going backwards until you realize there had to be a time where nothing(time, space, matter) existed. You need an eternal God who is outside of these things to make them. He made them and sent his son to die for us. God for a brief moment in history for the first time, entered into space, time and matter. To provide a way of salvation when none of us deserved it.

  24. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

1st amendment unalienable right includes freedom of expression , including religious expression, and to deny a citizen his unalienable rights is tyranny. To be offended if someone expresses their unalienable rights, is to be a violation of these rights endowed by our Creator and therefore heresy.

I am an Atheist. I find religion to be silly and promotes blindly following an invention of man. However, I am not part of any organizations as I feel they are going way to far. I don't think the painting should be up in a government building, but I also think, with it being up since 2002 and no one had an issue then, it shouldn't be an issue now. Freedom from religion being forced onto anyone ensures freedom of.

  26. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

I'm ashamed to be an atheist just because i associate with these people now

  27. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

    STUPID BASTARD ATHEISTS.

  28. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

    SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

So sad how Trump has divided America. Used to be such a great nation

  31. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

Screw them! I don't believe in God myself, but what they are doing is ridiculous. That painting isn't bothering anyone. Then need to keep their trap shut. Live and let live. We need to get away from leftism's hate of all things and start embracing tolerance.

  32. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

Oh, don't worry. There's some major "ripping" just over the horizon.

    January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

WRONG, they are 100% wrong on this non-issue, and they know it, but they'll try and bully their will on anyone stupid enough to fall for it. First Amendment, Congress shall make no Law respecting any religion. Displaying a painting isn't passing a law. Go screw yourselves.

  34. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

people need to learn that the separation of church and state was to make sure your priest wasn’t also your senator, it does not say anything about religious object

  35. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

Funny they don't believe in anything so why are they worried about it. 🤔

  36. January 12, 2019 at 12:10 am

I'm an atheist but many, many people in this country are Christian. So why deprive them of a painting? Stupid.
